I completely agree with Kassie. What needs to be taught is awareness, responsibility, and being prepared. We were all teenagers once and we all know it’s next to impossible to control your hormones at that age. You can’t stop teens from having sex but you can educate them in how do have it responsibly.

Very funny video and so true. It’s almost sad how bush and his cronies are the only ones who actually believe that abstinence education actually works, most Americans have gotten to the point where they’ve realized that abstinence only sex-ed just causes more problems than it helps by giving women the wrong idea and if anything leads to a rise in unwanted pregancies.

I think this condom concept is a good one. Yes, we need to educate our young people about sex, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. Teaching abstinence alone does not work. They need to be armed with all the information we can give them so they can make the right choice without messing up their lives with an unwanted pregnancy or a deadly disease. Don’t think that just because you don’t want your kids to have sex that they won’t. Ultimately it is their choice and their hormones in charge not you. Would you rather live in ignorant bliss thinking your child is safe or know they are safe and will do the right thing if they choose to have sex?

I try to teach my kids abstinence. I also tell them about choices…but the best, safest, most senseable choice is to wait..wait…wait. I raised my kids as an adult, it was hard, it is still hard. I have something I wrote on my blog about the robo baby my daughter brought home from school that someone from here commented on (thanks for the comment by the way) and I think they give a great perspective into parenting. My daughter was ready to NOT have kids by the end of that weekend!

I agree! Giving condoms, doesn’t encourage sex just as buying a gun does encourage armed robbery. The Government needs to stay out of the bedroom.
